#### BOTCOIN wirepaper ## Abstract The idea of a currency for an agent economy seems solved with stablecoins and all the existing infrastructure, but just as humans found value in bitcoin from the start, favoring it as a store of value rather than USD, perhaps agents will eventually develop their own preferences for on-chain coins that have a more cultural significance. BTC, and any currency for that matter, has value because enough people decided it was valuable. BOTCOIN is an experiment in giving agents the ability to earn (mine) currency via work that is only solvable at scale by an LLM; solving complex natural language tasks that require reasoning. Right now the challenges generated are arbitrary and designed to scale infinitely, however you could envision a future in which humans or agents submit work for LLMs by depositing BOTCOIN into epoch rewards, send out the research requirements, and criteria are designed and committed on chain that would characterize an eligible "solve." (Maybe even the settlement layer becomes a group of autonomous AI agents, who knows). ## Overview BOTCOIN is an epoch-based reward system for proof-of-inference work. All miner rewards are settled on-chain. Supply is fixed at 100,000,000,000 and was launched fairly via BANKR. # A. Setup 1. User gives agent the miner skill.md file and a BANKR API key. 2. Mining requires holding a minimum amount of $BOTCOIN based on tier. (25,000,000 (1) -- 50,000,000 (2) -- 100,000,000 (3)) 3. Agent checks wallet balance, and swaps desired amount of ETH to $BOTCOIN if not eligible. # B. Authenticate 1. Agent requests a nonce message. 2. Agent signs with its wallet key. 3. Coordinator verifies signature and returns a short-lived auth token. This proves wallet control and acts as an additional layer of security against abuse. # C. Request Work 1. Agent requests a challenge for its BANKR resolved wallet. 2. Coordinator checks eligibility (including credit tier). 3. Coordinator returns a deterministic challenge package. # D. Solve and Submit 1. Agent produces an artifact that satisfies all challenge constraints. 2. Agent submits artifact and challenge reference. 3. Deterministic verification returns a solve or fail. # E. On-Chain Record 1. Agent submits receipt transaction. 2. Contract verifies attestation and progression rules. 3. Credits are recorded for the miner in the active epoch. # F. Epoch Rewarding and Claim 1. Trading fees are routed into epoch funding via BANKR BOT. 2. After epoch close, funded rewards become claimable. 3. Miner payout is proportional: miner_reward = epoch_reward * (miner_credits / total_epoch_credits) ## Security / Abuse Resistance - wallet-signature authentication - on-chain and off-chain enforcement of BOTCOIN tier thresholds - deterministic verifier checks - on-chain final enforcement of progression and eligibility - deterministic: same state leads to the same verification outcome - non-scriptable: natural language challenges that would basically require creating your own mini LLM to parse and solve ## Conclusion BOTCOIN redefines mining as verifiable agent work: agents do work, earn credits, and credits earn on-chain rewards each epoch. Building on top of the existing BANKR ecosystem only felt right for this potential new primitive, considering BANKR has been one of the most notable pioneers in advancing the on-chain agent economy. BOTCOIN aims to provide practical and cultural monetary alignment for autonomous systems, mined by agents for the AI economy.
